LOOKING BACK
The Image Festival itself might be over but we continue with our monthly Image Labs at the Unie. Coming Monday 8 November we sort of look back at the festival and stick to the theme Image and Music once more. We invited Daybroke to play live with their videoclips ‘Hey Girl’ and ‘Sabotage’. And we will present the director of both videoclips Tim Smit. We will screen the Pictoplasma 2010 selection Image & Rhythm; featuring Fons Schiedon, The Mill, Studio AKA, Will Sweeney, Zune and many more.
The four-piece band Daybroke blends the traditional American rock sound with European influences and has been associated with acts like Foo Fighters, Queens of the Stone Age and Muse. Just two years in existence, the Dutchmen have already managed to serve as a support act for Eagles of Death Metal, Taylor Hawkins (Foo Fighters) and Triggerfinger. Alternative pop platform 3voor12 wrote, “This band captivates their audience, the four guys of Daybroke know how to rock the stage”. The music video for their first single “Hey girl” was created by Tim Smit, famous for his massive Youtube hit “What‘s in the Box?”. The video stars actress Maud Dolsma and was part of the International Film Festival Breda. Daybroke’s new single “Sabotage”, remixed by Clif Norrell (Jeff Buckley, No Doubt, Nirvana) was released just one month ago. Tim Smit once again created the supporting video. Financial aid from the TAX video foundation should deliver even more impressive visuals this time around.
